Tesco has announced its half-year pre-tax profits of £1.42 billion, an increase of 1.5 per cent on a year earlier.

The group generated sales of more than £1 billion a week, coming to a total of £30.4 billion.

Like-for-like sales rose 2.7 per cent in the UK, which is slower than the growth achieved by its rivals such as Sainsbury’s. However, the firm says recent moves to enhance its Clubcard customer reward strategy are paying off, and says it has seen a “significant improvement” in its performance compared with its competitors.

The company also announced that it has created 6,500 jobs in the six month period, while chief executive Sir Terry Leahy said that Tesco was “well-placed for the global recovery”.

The supermarket chain’s statement said its strategy had “delivered pleasing growth in challenging times”.

Finance director Laurie McIlwee said falling inflation had taken the shine off the like-for-like figures, as the company passed a comparative period last year of high commodity prices.

He said Tesco had now started to see its sales figures run at around the same rate as the rest of the industry: “It has actually converged and performance is much stronger relative to the rest of the market,” he said.

He added that Tesco usually does better in a period of deflation because of the company’s “everyday” value products.

Here you simply create a top list or award in your niche, you can allocate a page for this or simply make a blog post on it. I’ve noticed that most people who write content are often focused on themselves, by focusing on your competitors you are appealing to their egos and insecurities, which they will perceive subconsciously and in return, they will link back to you in some form.

3. Start Page Programs Or Traffic Exchange

This is a technique that even experienced online marketers have forgotten about, these are free programs that will allow you to advertise your site to other members, all you have to do is view other members site. Simple enough and more outrageously its free advertisement!!

4. Killer Headline

Have you been to the grocery store lately? precisely the checkout aisle, well somewhere in between the colorful array of packets of gum and the chapstick you’ll find the tabloids.You cant miss it, glossy finish and outrageous headlines, if I could get all the money I spent on these while waiting impatienly to pay for my groceries; you probably wont be reading this. I spend a fortune on those you know why? Cause the headline gets you and you want to read the juicy details. Your headline should create the same curiosity, force your readers to read the rest of the story.

5. SEO

Search Engine Optimization, well I dont know to much about this to be honest, but the key thing you should know is always tag keywords and have a decent URL and maybe someday you’ll be recoginsed by google. Outrageous right?

So you’ve been on his website, read his amazing claims and now want an unbiased review of whether his ebook is worth taking the plunge on and buying or whether it is just another scam which are now so common on the internet. Well first things first, I bought this book at the beginning of 2006 and have been using its tips ever since, and have now decided to sit back and reflect on the rich jerk’s book and whether it was any good. He’s an asshole, no doubt, but if you look past the marketing gimmicks there is actually a lot of really good information packed into those pages. It is especially good for people that are not already making money online but also has some fresh tips for the more advanced affiliate marketer. PS if you are a beginner and have read reviews saying it is not for you this is no longer the case as it has had an update in March and is now got a whole section for brand new beginners.

This book is only small just 40 pages but for me this is an advantage as it is filled from start to finish with interesting tips and how to implement them it’s not padded out just so he can sell it for more.

So what does the book contain?

1. It has a section on creating an affiliate website that sells like crazy – this is personally my favourite part of the book as it is the bit that has made me the most money. I would never have known how to do this until read this book and it is a real money earner.

2. Unique Search Engine PPC Strategies – now I had never used this technique to make money before I had read this book but trust me if you take the rich jerk’s advice there is some serious money to be made from this.

3. Search Engine Optimisation Strategies – this section provides ways to promote your site and get it too the top of the search engine listings. Many of these tips I would not of thought of one my own. This section isn’t huge and is really more of a beginning to search engine optimisation but I have found the tips very effective.

4. Selling your own informational product – now I haven’t tried this myself but it seems like a very good idea so maybe this will be the something you can do better than I have so far. I would expect there would be a lot of money in it but i haven’t tried it so can’t be sure.

5. Buying Wholesale and selling on Ebay – Now many people make a living doing this so there is plenty of money to be made. There is some information about wholesalers and drop-shippers here, not loads but some quality contacts. He also covers a pretty large list of ways people get ripped off in this business, so if you’re considering getting into it this is a must read chapter for you.

There are other chapters but for me those are the ones you will be buying this ebook for. EDIT since the update there is now a chapter with supplemental information designed for beginners. This chapter contains information that people who have been around a while already will know but will be helpful for beginners; it covers the basic concepts of how various online money making programs work so now even you newbies can start making some cash from the internet.

So in conclusion -

In my honest opinion this is a great book and I do thoroughly suggest you to buy it. Its techniques work and are fairly straight foreword to follow. I have made money using the techniques he outlines so, therefore, I must give it two thumbs up. I hope you have as much success after reading his book as I have had.
